JFK Rice

Rice – Sculptor of Asian Culture

Over the centuries, rice has influenced and shaped the culture of Asia. Wherever the crop has been planted, people celebrate its importance in festivals, traditions, rituals and languages. Even those for whom rice is an everyday sight, something magical and spiritual emanates from the depths of the green fields.

While rice is available in different grain sizes and shapes, the queen of all rice, of course, is the Indian Basmati. This type of rice has been grown in the foothills of the Himalayas for thousands of years. Basmati, a long-grained rice with a fine texture and natural fragrance and aroma, is the costliest rice in the world and has been favoured by emperors and praised by poets for hundreds of years.

JFK’s product range includes Basmati, Jasmine, Sharbati and other long grain rice.

JFK Spices

Spices – The Spice of Life!

The world’s first spices came from India. The best ones still do. The largest producer and exporter of spices in the world, India dominates the international food market. Over sixty varieties of spices are produced in the country of which about twenty five are commercially important.

JFK’s export basket of spices consists of Black Pepper, Dry Ginger, Turmeric, Red Chilli, Nutmeg and seed spices like Coriander, Fennel, Cumin, Fenugreek and Celery – both whole and ground.

Significant quantities of Curry Powders are also exported. The quality control team at JFK makes sure, at all times, that the spices exported are consistently superior in terms of quality, appearance, shape, size, colour and texture.

Ground Spice

Ground spices are mostly used as food ingredients for making curries. Curry is a stew-like dish of eggs, fish, meat, chicken or vegetables seasoned with a blend of spices. Curry powders [a standard mix of several ground spices] are used in several countries for making curries. The selection of seasonings varies with each dish.

Indian curry powders have become mealtime favourites internationally because they open up unlimited possibilities in creative cooking. A dash of curry powders can turn an otherwise bland and uninviting fare into a culinary sensation. JFK exports a variety of ready-to-cook ground spices, spice blends and curry powders made from pepper, turmeric, chilli, ginger, nutmeg, coriander, cumin, fennel, fenugreek and celery. These range in taste from hot and tangy to mild and sweet.

The ground spices and curry powders from JFK are meticulously manufactured and packed to fully retain all the intrinsic properties of the original spices.

Each country has its own preferred combination spices in their curries. JFK supplies, besides its standard range, custom-made spice blends and curry powders to the exact specifications of the buyers.

JFK Coffee

Coffee – The World’s Drink!

India produces the finest mild coffee in the world. A bracing tropical climate, high altitudes, sun-washed slopes, a well-distributed rainfall and rich, fertile soil offer Indian coffee that distinctly different flavour.

Indian coffee is well-known for its fresh and tempting blue colour, absolute hygiene and excellent liquoring properties. While there are almost twenty species coffee plants, they broadly divided into two categories: Robusta and Arabica.

Native to Ethiopia, Robusta usually thrives at heights between 1500 and 600 feet. Strong in taste and flavour, this variety is more popular in France and Italy. Arabica, indigenous to Zaire, grows well at heights of 3000 feet or below.

The uniqueness of JFK’s Indian coffee is its exquisite aromatic flavour which is acquired through the special shaded environment in which the plants grow. This makes the coffee beans ripen at a slower pace.

JFK Tea

Tea – The Cup That Cheers!

India is the world’s Number One producer of quality tea. It is quite simple to identify the finest Indian teas, because they are distinguished by distinctive symbols. These symbols, issued by the Tea Board of India, pinpoint and guarantee the quality and source of the products.

JFK exports three most important varieties of Indian Teas: Darjeeling, Assam and Nilgiris.

Darjeeling Tea

Darjeeling Tea carries the image of a female tea plucker. The tea has a delicate aroma, a muscatel flavour and an exquisite bouquet. Refreshingly soothing, it is best enjoyed with a little milk, or with a slice of lemon or orange.

Assam Tea

Assam Tea, which has a symbol depicting a rhino, is a full-bodied, strong and refreshing tea. An invigorating cup of Assam Tea is the best way to start the day, though it’s equally enjoyable any time of the day or night.

Nilgiris Tea

The Nilgiris (Blue Mountains) Tea is grown on the mist-laden mountain slopes of South India. The winning combination of fragrance and briskness make Nilgiris a truly unique and eminently drinkable tea. The Nilgiris Tea is symbolized by an undulating landscape of hills with two leaves and a bud.
